EVERGREEN PLAYERS ANNOUNCE AUDITIONS FOR 'I HATE HAMLET'

Evergreen, CO – The Evergreen Players announce auditions December 9, 2007 for I Hate Hamlet, a comedy by Paul Rudnick, Directed by Bernie Cardell & Sarah Roshan.

AUDITION DATE: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2007. To make an appointment for either of two cold-reading sessions: 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., please email stage manager Mathew Kepler at sweeneysblade13@gmail.com or call 303-359-6867. ROLES AVAILABLE FOR SIX (6) COMEDIC ACTORS
* Andrew Rally (30's) – our hero
not the best actor, but charming, innocuous.
* John Barrymore (late 30's- late 40's) – an alcohol-swilling, skirt-chasing, ghost of the late great actor.
* Dierdre McDavey (late 40's-early 50's) – Andrew's girlfriend: a virgin and a swooner.
* Felicia Dantine (40's-50's) – a delightfully daffy realtor and part-time medium.
* Lillian Troy (60's-70's) – a loveably crusty old broad; Andrew's agent.
* Gary Peter Lefkowitz (30's) – Andrew's friend, obsessed with television, success, and women.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script only. Please bring your resume, headshot, and list of conflicts (Commitment date range: January 17 through March 13, 2008).

PERFORMANCES MARCH 14 to APRIL 6, 2008: I Hate Hamlet opens Friday, March 14, 2008 and runs through Sunday, April 6, 2008: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. (at Center/Stage).

REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin the week of January 17, 2008 and will generally take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons plus a few Thursday evenings. The actual rehearsal schedule will depend on who is cast.

SYNOPSIS: Soap star Andrew Rally's life is in turmoil even though he has landed the lead in Hamlet. He HATES the play with a passion.
